Intercom systems

The doorbell of the future.

Open the door or the gate from one location, see who's there before you do, and grant access from your phone if you're not home. Audio-only, video, or fully integrated — tailored to your premises.

Three Modes

Audio, video, or both

Different premises need different things. The good news is that all three options use the same backbone — you can start simple and add capability later.

Mode 01

Audio Only

A simple two-way speaker. Visitor presses, you hear them, you respond. Reliable, low cost, and works flawlessly for straightforward access scenarios.

Mode 02

Video

See who's at the door before you decide. HD camera with night vision built in, plus two-way audio. The standard choice for most modern installs.

Mode 03

Integrated

Wired into your access control, CCTV and smartphone. Answer from anywhere, unlock the gate remotely, log every visit alongside camera footage.

Who It's For

Built for your premises

Same hardware family, different scenarios. Here's how intercoms typically deploy across the two main use cases.

Residential

Home & gate

For homes with a front gate, security door, or a long driveway. See who's arriving before you walk to the door, and let in deliveries even when you're at work.

  • Video doorbell at the front gate or door
  • Mobile app to answer and unlock from anywhere
  • Indoor monitor for everyday use
  • Integrated with motorised gate or door release
Commercial & Industrial

Reception & gate

For businesses with after-hours access, secured reception, or vehicle-only entry points. Buzz in known visitors quickly; verify and log everyone else.

  • Vehicle-gate intercom for trades, deliveries, contractors
  • Reception or after-hours staff entry
  • Multi-tenant systems for shared buildings
  • Integrated with access control and CCTV for full audit trail
Why It's "Of The Future"

More than a doorbell

A modern intercom is really a small hub on your network. Here's what that opens up beyond the simple buzz-and-talk of older systems.

Answer from your phone

Doorbell rings while you're at work? Answer the call, see the visitor, and unlock the gate from wherever you are.

Remote unlock

Grant access to deliveries, trades or visitors with a single tap — no need to be physically present at the door.

CCTV integration

Every doorbell press triggers camera recording. The intercom feed becomes part of your security log, not a separate system.

Visit history

Every doorbell press logged with photo, time and date. Useful for after-hours business records or knowing when a parcel arrived.

FAQ

Common questions

Quick answers to what people most often ask. Anything else, give us a call.

Wired or wireless — which should we use?
Wired (cabled) is more reliable, supports higher-quality video, and isn't subject to wireless dropouts — we recommend it for most installs. Wireless makes sense for retrofits where running cable would be costly or invasive. We'll do a free site walk-through to advise on what's practical for your premises.
Can I answer the intercom on my phone when I'm not home?
Yes — modern intercom systems include a mobile app that rings your phone alongside your indoor monitor. You can see the visitor, talk to them, and unlock the gate or door remotely — useful for letting in deliveries when you're at work or on holiday.
Will it work with my existing gate or door release?
In most cases, yes. Modern intercoms send a low-voltage signal that drives standard electric strikes, magnetic locks and motorised gate controllers. If you've got a non-standard setup, we'll check during the site assessment and recommend any adapters needed.
What happens if my internet drops?
The basic intercom function (visitor presses, your indoor monitor rings, you talk and unlock) works on the local network and doesn't need internet. Only the mobile-app-from-anywhere feature relies on internet, and even then most systems queue and reconnect when service returns.
How far can the gate intercom be from the house?
For wired systems, distances of 100–200 metres are common with the right cable, and we can extend further with network-based intercoms running over Cat6. Long-driveway and rural-property installs are very much in scope.
Can it integrate with my CCTV and access control?
Yes — that's where modern intercoms become powerful. A doorbell press can start CCTV recording on the gate camera, log the visit in your access control history, and notify the right person on the right device. We'll scope the integration during the site assessment.
